my soul, admire and wonder;
Jesus lived and died for thee;
He has broke the bands asunder,
And from bondage set thee free.
Sweet deliverance, Sweet deliverance
Jesus Christ has wrought for me [Repeat]
All the debt I had contracted
He, in mercy, called His own;
And lest I should be neglected,
Drew me near His gracious throne;
Paid all charges, Paid all charges,
Then, and for the time to come [Repeat]
Soon I hope to see His glory,
And, with all the saints above,
Sing and tell the pleasant story,
In the highest strains of love;
And forever, And forever
Live and reign with Him above [Repeat]
IT IS ENOUGH
“And Israel said, “It is enough”; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die.” Genesis 45:28

ith what rapture and ecstasy of soul the old patriarch Israel heard of his son Joseph?! Not only alive, but also governor of the land of Egypt. ‘It is enough,’ he said, as though he could enjoy no more. How then ought the hearts of poor sinners to be filled with joy, and fired with transport to hear their friend and brother Jesus lives for evermore; that ‘the government is upon his shoulders;’ that He is their King and their Priest upon His throne: that the counsel of peace is established, fixed and unalterably established, between the Father and Him on their account? Surely, if we believe this, as verily as Jacob believed the report concerning his son, we shall also cry out with him, ‘It is enough,’ perfectly sufficient. More joyful news cannot be heard; more comfortable truth cannot be believed; fuller evidence cannot be desired. Stronger proofs cannot be given than is revealed, of the covenant transactions of the adorable Trinity, in behalf of sinners.

SOME THAT WOULD TROUBLE YOU
“Which is not another, but there be some that would trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ,’ Galatians 1:7

o the sinner in whom the Spirit of God has revealed Christ, there is no sweeter sound than the gospel of Christ. His gospel is declared throughout the pages of the inspired Word, and reveals Him as the only Savior and Substitute of the elect, who came in the flesh and satisfied law and justice, by His obedient life and sacrificial death, and has thereby forever redeemed, justified, sanctified and glorified every sinner that the Father gave Him from eternity.
If the Lord has so taught you, you know the blessing, assurance, comfort, and rest that this blessed Gospel brings to your heart. Why then should we ever be troubled by the nay sayers and those who would preach a message of conditions, requirements, and duties to perform either to initiate, maintain, or complete our salvation. And yet, that is exactly what happens if you allow yourself to listen to or be subject to preaching that requires terms and conditions to be performed by us in order to entitle us to gospel grace. Such preaching finds a natural lodging in our depraved hearts and minds, and tends to distress the soul, weaken faith, dampen love to Christ and others, and deject hope. However, more deadly, such preaching keeps sinners in blindness and ignorance, and deceives them into looking to gain salvation by something they do or don’t do.
While others may think their message of conditions and requirements to be the gospel, Paul calls it a perversion of the gospel. He does not even honor it by calling it a gospel. He simply says, “It is not another.” It is merely a system of man’s devising. Such a message makes great pretence of morality, holiness, and righteousness, but it is nothing more than a show of the flesh, troubling and deceiving many, Col. 2:23.
The one true gospel of Christ is compared to a last will and testament in which are named those sinners whom God the Father chose before the foundation of the world, Hebrews 9:15-17. It is the last will and testament of which the Lord Jesus is the Testator. His life and death ACCOMPLISHED all the conditions and requirements of God’s law and justice on behalf of those named in it as heirs and beneficiaries. Salvation is an inheritance, not a merit. Yet gospel perverters willingly trouble their hearers with a mixed message of works and grace. Nonetheless, it is impossible that the elect should be ultimately deceived, Matt. 24:24. The Lord who has bought them, and justified them by His blood, will see to it that they are brought to rejoice and rest in Him and His finished work alone as having fulfilled ALL their salvation. THE LAW OF SACRIFICE

dam had his own ideas about how to deal with his guilt. He sewed fig leaves together and covered his and Eve’s nakedness. And! When that did not bring him the relief he was seeking, he hid from God among the trees of the Garden. But! That did not and could not remedy his problem. In fact! He did not know it at the time, but he had NO REMEDY for his problem. He had no remedy for the LEGAL guilt and JUST condemnation which resulted from his ONE sin. And, he (as well as all of humanity) would have remained ignorant of its remedy but for the grace of God toward those He chose.
Now! That is a perfect picture of fallen humanity (who like Adam know NOTHING of how to deal with sin UNTIL we are taught). We work zealously at those things which WE THINK give us some confidence that we are in God’s favor. And, when they fail to give us the confidence level we are looking for, we hide in the religion of this world that doesn’t know God and never addresses the issues that can bring sinners to know God such as (imputed sin, imputed righteousness, FREE grace, the glory of God in the face of Christ, and how God can be just and justify ungodly sinners.)
The BEST place to hide from God is in a religion that SAYS grace and SEEMS godly, but is FAR FROM the true and living God. But, God is gracious. He showed Adam HIS REMEDY (the ONLY remedy) for sin which was CHARGED (imputed) to a sinner’s account. This includes ANY sin for which we are LEGALLY accountable, whether THE original sin of Adam or the sins we personally commit). He slayed an animal and covered Adam and Eve with its skins (Gen 3:21). This pictured the death of the Lord who would “put away sin by the sacrifice of himself”. He introduced the Law of Sacrifice.
