CHRIST NOT FAITH

Most religious people today would say that we are saved by faith.  But in actuality they make their own faith, not Christ, to be their savior.  And in essence their faith is a testimony that Christ’s obedience, sufferings, death, His blood and righteousness don’t have much relevance in keeping any sinner out of hell or to put any sinner into heaven.  It is their faith, not Christ Himself that removes God’s wrath and gains God’s favor.  They have made faith into a work of man.  They set their faith along side of Christ thus making salvation a “divine co-operative effort” between God and man.  Faith then, not Christ’s blood, is the redeeming factor in their salvation.  Faith, not Christ’s righteousness, is their ground of salvation.  Man’s faith, not the purpose of God is the determining factor in a man’s salvation.  Friends, we must see the implications of this heresy.  We must see that this kind of faith has no redeeming value but is simply a work of man.  Christ is the one who saves and the faith that a true believer has is faith in Christ that is itself a God-given faith.  It is the “faith of Christ” given to a sinner.  Saving faith is a gift from God not a work of man!
