December 8, 2024-Colossians 1:13 - The Tree of Life

Colossians 1:13

"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His Dear Son:"

It would take a delivering, a deliverance from the power of darkness. That's why God sent His angel with a flaming sword and drove Adam and Eve out of that garden, so that they could no longer partake of that Tree of Life:

"So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the Tree of Life." (Genesis 3:24)

But there had to be a Tree of Life to come and be planted in time, in this world. That Tree of Life is Christ!

You might say, "But how was Christ planted?" He was planted in His death! Christ said that a seed does not produce unless it dies.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." (John 12:24)

"The Seed is the Word of God." (Luke 8:11)

God's Seed was sown in the ground of this earth, in the appointed time, when Christ died, and rose again. Only then did He bring forth Fruit unto Righteousness:

"The Fruit of the Righteous is a Tree of Life." (Proverbs 11:30)

Christ, the Seed of God, the Word of God, the Righteous Fruit and the Tree of Life!
